"I have a knee injury that prevents me from running far but these are so comfortable that I ran a 5K the first time I wore them. They were weird at first To get used to but worth it for me. Toe box is a bit small and I wish I had gone up at least a half seize."

Speedworks is Tyr’s Goldilocks running shoe
"Speedworks is Tyr’s best running shoe hands down. I’ve tried all three of its road shoes & Speedworks is a far better value than the Carbon Elite race shoe or the much-hyped but underwhelming Maverick. It has the exact same Pebax midsole & stack height as the Carbon Elite, but a nylon plate rather than a carbon plate. The plate helps to stabilize the midsole foam rather than provide propulsion, but that foam is plenty lively & propulsive by itself. The carbon plate in the Elite racer doesn’t improve the ride or offer more energy return than the Speedworks. The Maverick midsole is softer, offers less energy return than Peba foam & just isn’t in the same league as the Speedworks, imo. The Speedworks upper is also more comfortable & just as breathable as the Carbon Elite, but provides better lockdown perhaps due to having a stiffer heel counter. The upper on the Maverick, by contrast, lacks structure in the forefoot & doesn’t keep my toes from slipping. Tyr found the sweet spot between racer & super trainer in the Speedworks, but it isn’t getting the love it deserves. Maybe Tyr thinks the Maverick will appeal to a wider audience, and that may be true, but Speedworks is the real deal. It is comfortable right out of the box & the Pebax midsole only gets better over time."
"TYR has made their first great running shoe. The Valkerie Speedworks is made for flying. Super springy. Not entirely neutral. It seems best for people who put their heel down first as opposed to the center of the foot. But here is where it shines compared to big like Nike and New Balance: TYR has caught up in breathability and sole durability. Rubber padss on the sole should protect the foam from road wear. Also this shoe locks-in the heel unlike any New Balance 1080 I've worn. It clamps the heel. Not uncomfortable, as the shoe doesn't move. But I think serious runners will be surprised as how locked in this shoe is. If the New Balance Ellipse is a walker, and the New Balance 1080 is a daily runner, then the TYR Valkerie Speedworks is a serious trainer, to be used in the days leading up to a long run. TYR is now to be taken seriously."

Light and bouncy, but thin
"The TYR valkyrie speedworks is a light and bouncy show with pretty good energy return with the alternate type of plate it has. However, the shoe is advertised as foot-shaped, but it is not. It's a very pointed shoe and not great for real feet. Would love to run in this type of shoe for long distances, but it's just too thin on the foot. The sole extends past the heel and so you need to give it additional room when going down stairs or you will fall."
