Deibler Brothers Dominate at German Swimming Nationals

Huntington Beach, CA – June 6, 2011 – TYR athletes Markus and Steffen Deibler of the TYR sponsored German Swimming Federation (DSV) both claimed German national titles at the German championship meet held in Berlin. Markus Deibler had an outstanding competition that began with a win in the 100m freestyle with a time of 48:97. Steffen Deibler garnered a bronze in the same event with a time of 49.56.
On the following day of competition, Markus Deibler would claim his second national title in the 200m IM. Markus’ time of 1:58:67 was a new national record for Germany and places him fifth in the 2011 World Rankings. Markus also qualified for the 2011 World Championships in the 200m IM which will take place in Shanghai, China later this year.
Steffen Deibler also had a successful second day at the German Championships. With a time of 23:47 in the 50m butterfly, Steffen had the 5th fastest time in the world this year and captured a national title in the event. In addition, Steffen took second in the 50m freestyle with a time of 22:21, also an impressive time that ties him for 13th fastest in the world this year.
