Becky Lavelle Races Towards Beijing

Becky Lavelle competed with confidence and speed as she secured a second place finish in the 2008 New York City Triathlon. With over 3,000 triathletes lined up on race day to enjoy the sold out triathlon. Becky split from the pack to finish the Olympic distance in 2 hours and 28 seconds (swim 14:38, bike 1:05:06 and run 36:35).

At the recent Life Time Fitness Triathlon Minneapolis, Becky raced the Olympic distance in a fast time of 2 hours, 1 minute and 19 seconds earning a third place finish. Becky edited the record books as she clocked in among the Top 10 Fastest Times in Life Time Fitness Triathlon Minneapolis’ history. The 1.5k swim took place in Lake Nokomis in south Minneapolis coupled with a 1.5k bike and 10k run.

Becky Lavelle will represent the United States as an alternate in the Triathlon event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
