Just five days after setting his World Record in the 50m butterfly SC at the French National Championships, Leveaux has done it again.
At the European Short Course Championships taking place in Rijeka, Croatia, Leveaux lowered the world mark to an incredible 20.48 from the previous 20.64.
"I came to these championships with empty pockets," said Leveaux. "No record, no title. I'm going home with a world record and championship title."
“I think we’re seeing the rise of the world’s next great sprinter,” said Steve Furniss, executive vice president at TYR Sport.
At the Beijing Olympic Games, Leveaux earned two silver medals in the 50m freestyle and 4×100m freestyle Relay. He also remains the only swimmer in history to go under 22 seconds in the 50m freestyle LC and also swim under 1:47 in the 200m freestyle LC.
